I started with a small new project. It is a small purse bag from a Rijksmusem Amsterdam and from its wonderfull exhibition abut accesories - Accesorize.
This style of embroidery is very popular from Medieval to XX th early century and it used in most European countries. Now I am working about my doctoral thessis about history of clothing, sewing, embroidery and fashion in Gdansk (Danzig). And this embroidery was often used. Unfortunately all important textile obcject not preserved in museums in Gdansk so I must to do a research in other Polish and foreign museums.
* This style have some other names like: Florentine stitch, zig-zag stitch, point de Hongorie and brick stitch.

Brick stitch jest chyba moją ulubioną techniką wyszywania. W planach mam wszystkie sakiewki z V&A (aktualnie robię już trzecią), a to że ktoś też się tym zajmuje bardzo podnosi na duchu i zachęca do dalszej pracy :]
