Galanteryjne hieroglify czyli sekretarz miłosny. Emilie Berrin i jej projekty z pocz. XIX wieku/ Galante Hieroglyphen - Emilie Berrin as mystery designer an early 1800.

While working on embroidery to skirt the late eighteenth century, I came across a book - drawings for embroidery and crocheting, author of these work or co-author was Emilie Berrin about which I know nothing more than as much as she can guess. Probably Frenchwoman and painter and was known in the early nineteenth century as precisely author and designer.

Swoje prace wydawała chyba w niemieckim wydawnictwie w Lipsku. Jeszcze w 1822 roku wydała książkę o wyplataniu biżuterii z włosów!
Her work had to be very popular in the late 90s eighteenth century and early nineteenth centuries, since the book appeared alone or jointly with other authors and some of them were also reprinted in other languages. In one of the books given information that is also available at the Courtener bookstore in Moscow. Her work seemed to think the German publishing house in Leipzig.
Even in 1822 she published a book about weaving hair jewelry!

Była autorką wielu ciekawych publikacji wszystkie dotyczyły projektowania i zawierały wzory i rysunki z różnych dziedzin związanych z robótkami:

Do pierwszej grupy zaliczyłabym wzorniki hafciarskie, do drugiej wzorniki do robótek szydełkowych a do trzeciej wzorniki i rysunki do rysowania na porcelanie, przeznaczone do haftów i malowania na tkaninie.
She was the author of many interesting publications, which can be divided into 4 types of empire crafting because of the type contained in the books of works. All relate to design and include drawings, models, templates:
The first group to count among embroidery drawings, the second drawings for knitting and crochet, the third drawings rebus for porcelain, for embroidery and painting on fabric:

At the end of the eighteenth century a growing interest a rebus (rebusomania). They were popular as embroidery and the drawings on porcelain, used it frequently in his letters and in love letters because they contained secret, you could encode a secret love case. So also called several books - drawings of Emilie Berrin worked together with engineer Borreur.
These books me turn to decipher the strange large letters and symbols on bags women on the boards Costume Parisien:

Sac a ouvrage au rebus, Costume Parisienne, early 19th century
Modelki zatem mają torebki rebusowe, wyhaftowanymi literami, i symbolami w podobnych konfiguracjach jakie widać na szkicach w książkach Berrin.

The models therefore have rebuses bags, embroidered letters, and symbols similar configurations which can be seen in the diagrams in books Berrin. Books have also been published in Leipzig in 1800: GalanteHieroglyphen myth Guirlanden, Festons, Blumen und andern Verzierungen, die zurStickerei auch zur know Porzelainmahlerei dienen, um seinen Freunden seineEmfindungen, Wünsche und Liebe durch zu Figuren erklären; Myth 12 illuminiertenKupfern und mit Deutscher und Französischer Erklärung: ein SECRETAIRE derLiebe.

Książkę wydano w dwóch częściach w dwóch językach francuskim i niemieckim.
The book was published in two parts in two languages, French and German. What were these hieroglyphs, and what had significance for contemporary readers? Let us voice the same Emilie Berrin:

The book Emilie Berrin is also in library collections Senate House Library, University of London, where researchers write that the drawings rebuses cut and insert into notebooks or on the list (it just does not convince me). The letters were usually drawn puzzles and the book is a typical template to copy.

Biżuteria z włosów, Hair jewellery:

Ostatnia książka Berrin o jakie mi wiadomo wydana została w 1822 także w Lipsku i dotyczy wyplatania biżuterii z włosów:

The last book Berrin about what I know was published in 1822 also in Leipzig and concerns plaiting hair jewelry:

The book provides instructions and illustrations on how to interwoven strands of hair. An interesting illustration is an illustration at the beginning of the book. It shows three female characters in the room occupied - you can guess that learn to make jewelry. In the midst of probably the tunes teacher may present they are the author and teaches student sitting which is pleating on a pillow. It looks as produce of lace. The figure on the left, in turn, stands at a table with a lamp - the lampshade probably spread for the convenience of bandwidth loaded blocks. The woman on the right standing near on hearth (?) perhaps this is some steps in the preparation of this jewelry

Cynthia Amnéus w "The Art of  Hairwork, "zauważa, że miniaturowe portrety" były

Hair already in the eighteenth century appeared as a souvenir (memento mori) in jewelry in particular are associated with miniatures. The increase in interest in this type of jewelry occurred in the nineteenth century, in the years 1830 - 1880:
Cynthia Amnéus, in "The Art of Ornamental Hairwork,” notes that miniature portraits “were often commissioned to commemorate momentous life events such as births, betrothals, deaths, or
other joinings or separations. (...) The essential component of sentimental hairwork was its medium: the hair of the loved one. Women who undertook the arduous, painstaking task of creating their own hairwork could turn to instructions from magazines and manuals. Instructions for making hairwork circulated in the print culture just as motifs and styles of hairwork
did.**
