Nie trzeba przypominać, że Gdańsk po drugiej wojnie światowej stał się uboższy o wszelkiej maści zabytki. Tym bardziej cieszą wiadomości o darach dla gdańskich muzeów. Ostatnio miało miejsce takie wydarzenie. Spadkobierczyni zasłużonego rodu gdańskiego Gralathów - Arianna Sartori in Donati von Gralath podarowała rodzinne zbiory Muzeum Narodowemu w Gdańsku. 

Są to przede wszystkim obrazy i kilka dokumentów związanych z rodziną Gralath.

It goes without saying that Gdańsk after  The Second World War  has become poorer with all sorts of monuments. The more messages are enjoying that,  to Gdansk museums get more monuments now as gifts. Recently such an event took place. Heir to a distinguished family of Gdansk Gralath family - Arianna Sartori in Donati von Gralath, donated the family collection for the National Museum in Gdansk. These are mostly pictures and a few documents relating to the family Gralath.

Obecnie trwa wystawa - prezentacja daru, codziennie do 8 września w Muzeum Narodowym w Gdańsku. Byłam i widziałam, polecam wszystkim, przy okazji można zwiedzić całe muzeum. 

Currently, the exhibition - presentation of the gift, daily until September 8 at the National Museum in Gdansk. I was, and I saw, I recommend to all, by the way you can explore the whole museum.

  

Kilka słów o samych portretach. Datowane są ( nie wszystkie prawidłowo wg. mnie) na drugą połowę XVIII wieku. Widoczne są wszystkie istotne szczegóły ubiorów zarówno damskich jak i męskich. Stanowią zaledwie ułamek jak Gdańszczanie ubierali się i jaki preferowali styl a mamy tam zarówno modę polską jak i francuską z elementami angielskiej mody mundurowej, widoczna jest także biżuteria. Bardzo mało zachowało się także portretów z XIX wieku. Tutaj można zobaczyć damski portret z pierwszej poł. XIX wieku (ok. 1845 - moje datowanie) w biało - srebrzystej sukni balowej. 

A few words about the same portraits. Are dated (not all correctly (?) in the second half of the eighteenth century. You can see all the relevant details of clothing for both women and men. Represent only a fraction of the  old Danzig dressed and what we preferred style and fashion where both Polish and French with English fashion uniformed elements. Very few survived the portraits of the nineteenth century. Here you can see the lady's portrait of the first half. The nineteenth century (around 1845 - my dating) in white - silver ball gown.

 Nie wiem jaką interpretację przyjmą albo już przyjęli pracownicy muzeum co do mody prezentowanej na tych portretach, niestety ja swoje uwagi zachowam do pracy doktorskiej. Mogę tylko dodać, że owe portrety niezwykle dokładnie ukazują krój ubioru. 

I do not know what interpretation they adopt or have already adopted the museum staff about the fashion presented in these portraits, but I will keep my comments to the dissertation. I can only add that these portraits reveal an exact fit clothing.

Shopping and new plans. Zakupy

Wchodzę w okres którego nie lubię: jesień i zima. Zastanawiam się jak ja to przeżyję skoro przy temperaturze plus 30 i wyżej czuje się jak "ryba w wodzie". Mało jest takich dni. Znakiem, że lato się kończy jest także zakończenie jarmarku Dominikańskiego, uważanego za najdłużej działający jarmark w Europie czy na świecie. Ja w to akurat nie wierzę. Ale do rzeczy. W tym roku jarmark dla mnie był dość ciekawy, mniej taniej chińszczyzny a więcej artystycznych wyrobów w tym także i "staroci". Niestety rynek staroci w Polsce ogranicza się do niemieckich hełmów, żelaznych klamek i ozdób, jakiś lichych zegarków i połamanych guzików, nie licząc starych łyżek , butelek czy noży. Nie ma strojów, nie ma też akcesoriów. Nie docenia się ubioru jako przedmiotu dla kompletowania kolekcji. Jednak rozczarowanie nie było duże bo kilka ciekawych rzeczy udało mi się kupić. Jestem tym razem posiadaczką jedwabnego szala - jest to nowy wyrób ale od razu poznać można że ornamenty nawiązują do dawnych szali z początków XIX wieku. Przyda się do tej epoki. Tym razem tez nastawiłam się na znalezienie biżuterii odpowiedniej do XIX wieku i też się udało. Kupiłam kolczyki perły w kształcie łezki (tak, jak te u Vermeera) oraz skromny ale elegancki komplet składający się z naszyjnika i bransoletki z korala oraz drugiej bransoletki która naśladuje biżuterię z 2 połowy XIX wieku.

I'm going into a period where I do not like: autumn and winter. I wonder how I can live with that if the temperature of plus 30 and above feels like a "fish in water". There are few such days. A sign that summer is over is the end of a  St'Dominic's fair, considered the longest established market in Europe or the world. This year the fair for me was quite interesting, less cheap Chinese things and more artistic products including and "antiques". Unfortunately flea market in Poland is limited to the German helmets, iron door handles and ornaments, some shoddy watches and broken buttons, not counting the old spoons, bottles and knives. There are no costumes, no accessories too. It underestimates the clothing as a subject for assembling the collection. However, there was a big disappointment because a few interesting things I was able to buy it. This time I bought silk scarf - it is a new product but once you get to know that the ornaments refer to the old ornaments of the early nineteenth century. It will be useful for this era. This time also tuned in to find jewelry appropriate to the nineteenth century, and it worked. I bought earrings pearl teardrop-shaped (like those of Vermeer) and simple but elegant set consisting of necklace and bracelet coral bracelet and other jewelry that mimics the 2nd half of the nineteenth century.  More about

Zaczęłam także kilka nowych projektów. I tak haftuję  następny haftowany portfel z 1768 roku. Udało mi się tez kupić w taniej odzieży cały worek mulin w tym DMC. Zaopatrzona jestem więc na kilka projektów.
Uszyłam sobie także z resztek czepek (nie lubię czepków). Najgorsze jest to, że niestety nie umiem jeszcze ich należycie wykończyć ( konstrukcja i ściegi). Najbardziej mnie jednak ucieszyła moja nowa pikowana kamizelka (jumps). Uszyłam ją ze spódnicy. Jest to na razie wstęp bo planuję uszyć kolejną tym razem pikowaną i haftowaną.

I also started a few new projects. I started new embroidered wallet from 1768. I made 18th century cap (I do not like caps). The worst part is that, unfortunately, I can not even properly finish them (construction and stitching). Most, however, I was glad my new quilted waistcoat (jumps). This is the case because admission plan to sew this time next quilted and embroidered jump.

Buty od American Duchess. Shoes from American Duchess

 Wraz z dwoma moimi koleżankami zamówiłyśmy sobie osiemnastowieczne buty ( model Kensington) w sklepie American Duchess. Zamówienie złożyłyśmy jeśli dobrze pamiętam na początku marca i rozpoczęło się niecierpliwe oczekiwanie jaki będzie końcowy efekt zamówienia. W końcu paczka przyszła ( pod pilną kontrolą śledzenia jej poprzez stronę amerykańską i polską). Buty pięknie zapakowane w moim zamówieniu były jeszcze pończochy oraz klamry oraz mały upominek. Ale po kolei. Buty wykonane w 100% ze skóry, jak na zewnątrz tak i w środku, podeszwa także wykonana ze skóry co mi odpowiada bo w tych butach zamierzam także i tańczyć. Klamry do butów są z metalu w srebrnym kolorze i trzeba samemu je dopasować ( zrobić dziurki). Zapakowane osobno w welurowy woreczek. Model który zamówiłam jest kopią klamry znajdującej się w Victoria & Albert Museum. Pończochy dzianinowe z jedwabiu z dodatkiem spandexu mają czarne pięty oraz czarny wzór na bokach.

Buty bardzo wygodne, miękkie, nie dopasowałam jeszcze klamry, będę je nosić z wkładką. Miałam obawy co wyboru rozmiaru bo za małe buty to duży kłopot już lepiej mieć trochę za luźne. Pończochy są jednak trochę za duże w stopie i za szerokie ale ja mam dość wąską stopę. W prezencie dostałam tez lizak bio (organic) oraz małą broszkę, która bardzo mi się podoba. 

W niedługim czasie postaram się o jakąś nową sesję zdjęciową być może w jakimś ładnym historycznym miejscu. 

Along with two of my friends ordered the eighteenth century schoes (Kensington model) in shop American Duchess. We ordered if I remember at the beginning of March and began impatiently waiting for what will be the final outcome of the order. At the end of the package came. Shoes beautifully packaged in my order was still stockings and buckles, and a small gift. The shoes are made of 100% leather as the outside so in the middle, the sole is made of leather which suits me because these shoes also going to dance. Buckles for shoes are made of metal in silver color and you can adjust them yourself (make holes). Packed separately in velvet pouch. Model who I ordered is a copy of the buckle located at the Victoria & Albert Museum. Stockings knitted silk with added spandex in black color heels and black pattern on the sides.
In a short time I'll try something new  photo  shoot  maybe it can be a nice historical place in Gdańsk.

"Die Kunst zu wohnen. Raumdesign im Rokoko" A house in 18th century Germany. Sztuka wnętrz w XVIII wieku.

Dzisiaj wspomnę o pewnej wystawie która miała miejsce w zeszłym roku w Salzburg Museum. "Die Kunst zu wohnen. Raumdesign im Rokoko, opowiada o pewnym zbiorze -albumie przedstawiającym wnętrza XVIII wiecznego domostwa bogatego patrycjusza i złotnika w Augsburgu - Corneliusa Kocha. Album zadziwia kolorami, które nie wyblakły przez co można wyczuć estetykę wnętrz tamtych czasów. Album datowany jest na lata 1780 - 1786. Karty albumu wykonane zostały w różnych technikach, częściowo atramentem i akwarelami ale też nie brakuje technik jak decoupage czy scrapbooking. Karty wykonane tą techniką są chyba najcenniejsze bo wyklejone zostały także fragmentami tkanin czy papieru z osiemnastego wieku. 

W czerwcowym numerze z 2013 roku The World Interiors ukazał się artykuł  ( A Cabinet Curiosity) o albumie oraz zamieszczono kilka dobrej jakości zdjęcia.

Today, I mention about the interesting exhibition that took place last year in Salzburg Museum. "Die Kunst zu Wohnen. Raumdesign the Rococo, talks about some set-album showing the interior of the eighteenth century a wealthy patrician houses and goldsmith in Augsburg - Cornelius Koch. Album amazing colors that are not faded so you can feel the aesthetics of the interior at the time. Album is dated for the years 1780-1786. Cards were made in different techniques, some ink and watercolors but also no shortage of techniques such as decoupage and scrapbooking, made ​​with this technique are probably the most valuable because they are also glued pieces of fabric or paper from the eighteenth century.

Album przedstawia więc jadalnię, 5 salonów ( zielony, biały, kobiecy, muzyczny i herbaciany), 5 sypialń (wyróżniono w tym sypialnię dla służących, macierzyński oraz dziecięcą. oraz 5 pokoi dla gości czy dla organizowania przyjęć oraz zapierającą dech kuchnię. Wszystkie wnętrza przedstawione zostały z meblami, tapetowanymi ścianami oraz podłogą wyłożoną kafelkami. Postacie są zbyt małe w stosunku do wnętrza ale nie zmienia to faktu, że autor miał szaloną wyobraźnię tworząc taki album. Warto także zwrócić uwagę na niezmiernie dokładne detale, jak obrazy na ścianach, klamki od drzwi czy formy do ciasta wiszące na ścianie kuchni.

Album now provides a dining room, five salons (green, white, ladies, music, and tea), 5 bedrooms (including a bedroom for the maids, maternity room and for child), five rooms for public spaces and halls  and breathtaking kitchen. All the interiors presented been with furniture, wallpapers walls and tiled floors. Characters are too small for the inside but does not change the fact that the author had a wild imagination, creating the album. Should also pay attention to the extremely accurate details such as paintings on the walls, door handles from doors and mold cakes hanging on the kitchen wall.

Uwagę zwraca trójwymiarowość, do ramy drzwiowej przyklejono papier, który imituje otwarte drzwi a w dalszej perspektywie widać panią w ślicznym caraco ( kolory są zabójcze)

Attention is drawn three-dimensionality to the door frame glued paper that mimics the open door and eventually you can see the lovely caraco.

Widok miasta przypomina mi Gdańsk a cały album nasuwa mi na myśl Dom Uphagena.  Z okazji wystawy wydano katalog pod tym samym tytułem. W czerwcowym numerze The World Interiors ukazał się artykuł o albumie oraz zamieszczono kilka dobrej jakości zdjęć.
