Tydzień temu dostałam książkę Russian Elegance* która jest ważnym nabytkiem w moim księgozbiorze. Jest to katalog zbiorów moskiewskiego muzeum historycznego dotyczący ubiorów od XV do XX wieku. Książka została podzielona na dwa działy w pierwszym opisane zostały ubiory dawnej Rusi od średniowiecza aż do XIX wieku. W drugim dziale znajdziemy piękne ubiory carskie, dworskie i bogatych mieszczan. Kilka strojów prezentowane są jako repliki wykonane współcześnie (gorsety i panier).
Zawiera pełną bibliografię na temat ubioru rosyjskiego oraz podana jest proweniencja zachowanych obiektów muzealnych.

This is a directory of the Moscow State Museum of historical collections of clothing from the fifteenth to the twentieth century. The book was divided into two sections were first described in ancient Russian clothing from the Middle Ages until the nineteenth century. The second section you can find beautiful clothes tsarist court and Russian burghers. Some costumes are presented as replicas made today (corsets and panier).
Includes a complete bibliography on Russia and the dress is given provenance preserved museum objects.
This item is a perfect base to discover the Russian costumes preserved in excellent condition and is complementary to read directories such as the important catalog Hermitage Art of Costume in Russia: Eighteenth to Early Twentieth Century.

I was wondering wether I should put this on my wishlist. Is there a lot of material about the early 19th century covered in the book?

About early 19th century there is not a lot of information but for you I propose to find the catalog form Hermitage Museum from St. Petersburg. There are a lot of costumes from early 19th century. If I remember this catalog form Hermitage Museum was edited even in Germany translation.
